Joey Plescia (she/her) is from Cleveland, OH, and has lived in Columbus since she started her bachelor’s in education at The Ohio State University. She is currently a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army as her full-time position and has been a part of the service for 7 years. Before going on active duty, Joanne worked as an outreach educator at the Center of Science and Industry. During her deployment in 2018, Joanne coordinated school supply collections in her hometown to provide to local refugees at the end of her tour. She spent time with the children and coached soccer once a week. Joanne joined the Stonewall Columbus Pride volunteer team last year to be more involved in her community and give back to those around her. She looks forward to this upcoming pride and can’t wait to see everyone!
