Elise (she/hers) was a vagabond– living in Detroit & small-town, Michigan, San Francisco, Little Rock, Cincinnati, St. Louis, and Anchorage, to name a few places, before settling in Columbus for good! She has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy with Specialization in Rehab Engineering from The Ohio State University.
After nearly 10 years working in physical rehabilitation in such settings as Inpatient Rehab, Stroke Rehabilitation, Traumatic Brain Injury, Orthopedic Rehabilitation, and as a Director of Rehabilitation, Elise made a career shift to Complex Rehab Technology(CRT) /Medical Device Sales. She became certified as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) in 2019 and has been working in the wheelchair industry ever since. First worked for a large national supplier of CRT and now as an Account Manager for a worldwide manufacturer of wheelchairs, seating, and mobility equipment for adults and children.
Elise has served in numerous leadership roles and is skilled in public speaking, having presented as a panel member and speaker at numerous universities and conferences on occupational therapy practice, professional mentorship, CRT/wheelchair seating, and mobility.
Elise also enjoys volunteering and organizing in the community, having worked closely with The Easter Seals of Central California, Mended Little Hearts, Ronald McDonald House, and the Alliance for Health & Rehabilitation. She is very excited and PROUD to be serving as a Pride Steering Committee Member and hopes to accelerate Pride to be an even more inclusive event assisting with accessible participation in the festivities!
