June 15th, 2006 GLBT History Panel Discussion
ll Columbus will host a GLBT history panel on Thursday, June 15th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This evening’s focus will be on the 1940’s through the 1970’s, before Stonewall Columbus was founded. Speakers include Steve Shellabarger, Fred Holdridge, and Orn Huntington. The panel discussion will be moderated by City Councilwoman Mary Jo Hudson. This event is FREE and open to the public.
June 17th, 2006 Run for Pride 5K (run/walk/stroll)
Stonewall Columbus will host the 5K Run for Pride, on Saturday, June 17th, at 9:30 a.m., in Goodale Park, located in the Short North. Registration for this fun-filled event is $20, and those interested should register at: www.premierraces.com. All registered runners, walkers and “strollers” will receive a free t-shirt and a complimentary “goodie-bag” for participating.
June 17th, 2006 “Pride Ride” Poker Run
Stonewall Columbus will host a Pride Poker Run on Saturday, June 17th, beginning at 11 a.m., at Club Diversity, which is located at 863 S. High Street. The event will include numerous door-prizes and a cookout following the “ride.” The price for the Pride Poker Run is $20 for drivers and $15 for riders.

After all that fun on Pride Day, June 24th, come enjoy a Blues Brunch to be remembered! Stonewall Columbus will once again host a Pride Brunch on Sunday, June 25th, at 11 a.m. This year’s brunch will take place at the Hyatt Regency, in downtown Columbus, located at 350 N. High Street. Featuring special musical guest Roddy Barnes with Debe’. Tickets are $35 per person ($350 per table) or $50 per person, for preferred/corporate seating ($500 per table). Tickets can be purchased by calling (614) 930-2262.
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS AVAILABLE
Pride does not happen without YOU! To be a part of the celebration, please consider donating your time. We still need volunteers in the following shifts:
Beer Ticket Sales 1:15-4pm and 3:45-6pm. We also need Festival Teardown helpers 7-10pm and Toll Booth workers. Forms can be downloaded at www.stonewallcolumbus.org Work in teams, join your coworkers, invite the family… Volunteering is a great Team Building exercise. Stonewall Columbus is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary. On Saturday, June 24th, over 100,000 marchers will take 3000 steps for pride, marching from Goodale Park to Bicentennial Park. Signing up to march or pledging as little as a penny per step; friends, family and neighbors can walk side-by-side ensuring the preservation of another 25 years for Stonewall and Columbus Pride.
