Stonewall Columbus Launches GLBT Hiking Club
Stonewall is pleased to announce another new program to the growing list of programs that seek to reach out to a diverse and growing community. On Thursday, August 11th at 6:00pm, Stonewall is inviting any glbt and allied community member to a kick-off event for a newly formed GLBT Hiking Club. The kick-off event will be an informational session providing an overview of possible future hiking events, as well as, a chance for the community to offer suggestions to the program Coordinators, John Arthos and Dennis Johnson. The event will be at the Stonewall Community Center at 1160 North High Street. To participate in the club you do not have to register, simply show up to the kick-off event which is free and open to anyone.
This program is designed to allow participation from all community members regardless of experience. “I was interested in joining with other glbt folks that enjoy hiking,” stated John Arthos, Stonewall Volunteer and Co-Coordinator, “and thought forming a Hiking Club would be a great way to explore Ohio’s rich parklands, and offer a fun way for people to meet, socialize and exercise.”
Please join us to chat about the group and discuss any ideas that will enrich our experience together. For more information on participating in the Hiking Club or other Stonewall programs, please contact Kellye Pinkleton at 614-930-2261 or email at xcvaxyrgba@fgbarjnyypbyhzohf.bet.
