Stonewall Expands Programs and Announces New Center Hours

To better meet the needs of a diverse and growing community, Stonewall Columbus hasdramatically increased its programs over the past year AND is announcing new expanded Community Center hours for the Stonewall Columbus Center located at 1160 North High Street Columbus, Ohio. The new Center Hours, effective Tuesday, August 2nd, will be Tuesday through Friday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm; Saturdays (except onStonewall event days) 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and Closed Sundays and Mondays.

“The expanded hours,” stated Michael Dutcher, Stonewall Director of Events and Operations, “are a way to better meet the needs of the community and be available to those that were not able to access our center and services during the previous regular business hours. The Staff and Board of Trustees wanted to add later evenings and weekend coverage to reach out and better serve the GLBT and allied community.”

Stonewall has also increased the variety of programs it offers over the past year inan effort to meet the changing needs of our community and offer a diverse collection of programs that will target many different populations within the community. The complete list of current Stonewall programs (meeting at the Community Center) is:

Men’s General Support Group – NEW
3rd Tuesday of each month @ 7pm / Facilitated by Jim Broyles, Ph.D.

Men’s Coming Out Support Group
2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7pm

Women’s General Support Group – NEW
1st and 3rd Mondays of each month @ 7pm/ Facilitated by Shirah Siladie, MSW, LISW

Trans, Cross Dressing, Gender Variant Support Group
1st Wednesday of each month @ 7pm
Facilitated by Meral Crane, MSW, Director- Central Ohio Gender Dysphoria Program

Women’s Book Club – NEW
Meets the first 3 Wednesdays of each month @ 6:30pm
