STONEWALL COLUMBUS WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AJ CASEY
COLUMBUS, OH – November 16th, 2018 – The Stonewall Columbus Board of Trustees and staff welcomes their new Executive Director, AJ Casey to the organization. Casey, who was previously of counsel at Benefactor Group succeeds Executive Director Karla Rothan who retired earlier this year after 12 years of service.
“We conducted an extensive search and interviewed many qualified candidates and we are confident that AJ’s experience has prepared her to take on this role”, Rob Podlogar, Stonewall board president, said.
Ms. Casey has been a nonprofit leader, trainer, and consultant for more than 25 years. She specializes in capital campaigns, fundraising assessments and strategies, board training & advancement, as well as executive coaching and professional development.
“For nearly 40 years Stonewall Columbus has been an essential light and touchstone for the LGBTQ community. I am honored to join this team and help usher in a bright future where all of us can thrive!”, Ms. Casey said.
Before launching her own firm in 2006, Casey served for eight years as a senior consultant and vice president in a national philanthropic consulting firm. Earlier, she held positions ranging from chief development officer to executive director within nonprofit organizations. Ms. Casey held a position on the Stonewall board and assisted with the Stonewall Builds capital campaign prior to stepping forward and adding her name to the list of potential candidates for the executive director role.
AJ is an alumna of Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she studied foreign languages and international economics. She has also earned certifications as a Certified Fund Raising Executive and a Certified LifeSuccess Coach.
As Central Ohio’s LGBTQ+ community center, Stonewall Columbus’ mission is to increase visibility, inclusion, and connection for the LGBTQ+ community.
