Yes, it is already for Stonewall Columbus Pride Holiday 2007, the second largest Gay Pride celebration of its kind in the Midwest and one of the top 10 in the country. This year marks our 26th anniversary of Stonewall Columbus Pride Holiday as we rally towards a bigger and better event than Stonewall Columbus and the Greater Columbus GLBT and allied community has ever seen. Attendance at the celebration of diversity and community spirit was outstanding last year with an estimated 100,000 people. Pride Holiday is a crucial fundraising venture for Stonewall Columbus. Funds raised at the events support Stonewall Columbus and it’s pursuit of equality, fairness and safety for the entire gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community.
The schedule of events will begin in May 2007. In addition to the Pride Parade and Festival, the celebration includes: an art exhibit, a GLBT history panel, a GLBT theatre shorts festival, diverse entertainment, a Poker Run for motorcycle enthusiasts, an antique car show and a 5K race. For the seventh year, the Pride Festival will offer the hugely popular family area that receives national sponsorship support and features entertainment for families. As you can see, Stonewall Columbus has a history of bringing large groups of people together to support one common cause: Equality for GLBT Individuals. We would like you to be a part of this holiday as well. This year’s theme is “Building Our Future with Pride.” We need your help to do just that as we strive to build the first GLBT Community Center in Central Ohio. There are many ways that you can support Stonewall Columbus. If you have a business, you can become a sponsor of the event or if you are an individual, you can make a donation to our pride circle. Support is not always marked in dollars. We are always in desperate need of volunteers for the events, so sign up and lend a hand. If you have additional questions please visit our website at www.stonewallcolumbus.org or contact Karla Rothan, Center Director at Stonewall by calling (614) 930-2261or on her cell at (614) 562-0430 or via email, xebguna@fgbarjnyypbyhzohf.bet. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance for your continued support of Stonewall and the GLBT community.
