Stonewall Columbus is hosting an interfaith event on Sunday, March 28th for faith groups friendly to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. Working with a committee of diverse community members, Stonewall has formed a planning committee representing a variety of religions, beliefs, philosophies, and ideals to ensure this gathering is truly an interfaith event. Stonewall Columbus Interfaith Forum projects aim to educate the community both about religious diversity and about support given GLBT folks by faith groups, to recognize faith groups for such support, to integrate GLBT and diverse faith communities by identifying opportunities for GLBT folks to participate in communities based on diverse religious and other belief systems, and to provide safe spaces and comfortable environments for individuals to work on conciliation of any personal issues they may have related to faith.
The event will be 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and will be held at the Short Stop Youth Center at 1066 N. High St. Stonewall is also compiling a directory of these groups.
