“Live Out Loud!”
COLUMBUS, OH, January 26, 2024 — Stonewall Columbus is thrilled to announce the theme for the 2024 Columbus Pride Festival and March: “Live Out Loud.” This message embodies the spirit of our community and our commitment to celebrating diversity, authenticity, and the ongoing fight for equality.
“In a world where under represented voices are often silenced, ‘Live Out Loud’ is a clarion call for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community and our accomplices to embrace their truth and express it boldly,” said Densil Porteous, Executive Director of Stonewall Columbus. “This year’s theme is not singularly a slogan; it’s a testament to the resilience, pride, and unapologetic authenticity of our community–it will be our clarion call all year long!” The “Live Out Loud” theme encourages individuals from all backgrounds to proudly showcase their true selves–to share their joy. It’s a celebration of the progress we’ve made while recognizing the ongoing struggles within our community. The theme also serves as a reminder that living openly and authentically is a form of activism, it is protest, and pushes us towards a more inclusive future.
June Pride month 2024 will feature a range of events, including Stonewall’s signature Pride Brunch, the largest free pride festival in the midwest featuring live entertainment, community booths, the annual Pride March, and a series of educational and social activities that foster connection, understanding, and visibility. As always, Stonewall Columbus continues its mission to uplift and support LGBTQ+ individuals, working to create safer spaces for dialogue, celebration, and activism.
“We invite everyone to join us in this celebration of diversity and continued fight for freedom,” added Porteous. “Let’s work to make Columbus Pride 2024 safe and memorable where we all ‘Live Out Loud’ and shine brightly as a reflection of hope, inclusion, and protest.”
