Stonewall Columbus believes that silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality. When immigration enforcement systems endanger LGBTQ+ lives and undermine basic civil and human rights, we have a responsibility to speak clearly.
We condemn the immigration enforcement practices carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), that have caused documented harm, especially to LGBTQ+ people—particularly transgender individuals, people living with HIV, and those seeking asylum. These harms reflect systems and practices of oppression, that repeatedly fail to uphold dignity, safety, and basic human rights.
At Stonewall Columbus, our work is guided by a simple and unwavering commitment: we commit to humanity*. Through intentional actions rooted in inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability, we reject policies and practices that dehumanize people or place them in harm’s way.
Stonewall Columbus affirms the dignity, safety, and humanity of all LGBTQ+ people—including immigrants, asylum seekers, and families—regardless of immigration status. We remain committed to action that supports our community through connection, care, accountability, and advocacy.
