Rogue Theatrics, a production company presenting live theatre and entertainment in Central Ohio, is staging its newest work, The Holiday Princess Show. A conceptualized variety show within a show, The Holiday Princess Show centers on an elementary school Christmas program being taken hostage by a homophobic stage mother and her 250 pound twelve year old former pagaent-princess daughter. Stonewall Columbus’s Speak Out (ally advocacy group) will be hosting an informational table at each performance as part of their expanded outreach efforts.
Featuring local performers Isaac Nippert, Kendra Lynn, Dale Gregory, Courtney DeCosky and Justin Moon, the show includes comedy sketches, musical and dance performances.
Among the acts being performed are shorts written by Jeff Goode (The Eight Reindeer Monologues, Lesbian’s Last Pizza) and Dale Gregory of Rogue Theatrics. Among the characters in the show is Cupid (Santa’s “only openly gay reindeer”).
Performances are 8:00 pm on Friday, December 17th and Saturday, December 18th at TripleForce Artistic Center located on 3979 Parkway Lane, Hilliard, Ohio (off of Cemetery Road near Route 270). Tickets are $8 per person. The show is for audiences 17 years and older for strong language and content.
Recently, Rogue Theatrics produced Broken, two one acts written by Jeff Goode and Joe Pintauro for the 2004 Columbus National Gay & Lesbian Theatre Festival. Known for their inclusion of GLBT characters and plays, Rogue Theatrics (formerly PanTheatrics) received an award for outstanding service in this year’s theatre festival by organizer Frank Barnhart of Act Out Productions.
