Stonewall Columbus Pride
Float & Vehicle Tips
Creative visuals are part of Pride—but people are the heart of it. If you’re bringing a float, vehicle, or display, we’re here to help you do it in a way that keeps Pride rooted in community.

Stonewall Columbus does not provide float rental.
Whether you’re marching with a walking contingent, a small vehicle display, or a full float/flatbed,
your participation helps make Pride visible—and helps fund Stonewall’s year-round work.
People first (and floats are still welcome)
Our encouragement to partners
Pride was born from protest—and the most powerful thing any organization can bring is people.
We welcome floats and vehicles, and we’re also encouraging partners to show up with their teams,
employees, and communities—walking, visible, and present.
However you show up, we ask you to center community—especially the people and identities most marginalized,
dehumanized, and criminalized.
If you’re doing a float, try this
- Walkers lead. Make sure your contingent has a strong walking presence in front of and alongside the float/vehicle.
- Right-size the build. Consider a smaller vehicle display and a larger walking team.
- Invest in community. Consider redirecting part of your float budget into support for LGBTQ+ organizations.
- Center your message. Keep signage simple, affirming, and aligned with Stonewall’s inclusion expectations.
