PLATFORM BEER CO. RELEASES PRIDE MARTIAN SLUSHEE-STYLE SOUR ALE FOR PRIDE MONTH
Jun. 3, 2021 – CLEVELAND – Platform Beer Co. is launching a limited-edition variant of their Martian Slushee Style Sour Ale, Pride Martian. $1 of the proceeds from each case of the beer sold in the state of Ohio will benefit Stonewall Columbus during the Month of Pride.
The ‘Martian Beer Series’ has a new look for 2021, and with it new flavors. This beer series is associated with a color in the name for each of its variants (Blue Martian, Red Martian, and Pink Martian), and Platform saw an opportunity for a new flavor variant that wasn’t only one color, but all of them: Enter Pride Martian.
Pride Martian is the third flavor variety in the series for 2021. This 6% ABV sour ale is proud to serve flavors of sweet watermelon, tangy pineapple, and candied cherries. The beer can be found at most major retailers who currently stock Platform in 4-pack 16 oz. cans, and is on draft at limited locations.
Partnering with Stonewall Columbus was a natural connection for this release. As this beer will be available across the state, a charity based in the center of Ohio was a key effort. Stonewall Columbus was established in 1981 and sees “an Ohio where ALL of US thrive.” It’s mission is to “increase visibility, inclusion, and connection for the LGBTQ+ community.” Co-Founder Paul Benner added, “Pride Martian aims to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community of employees, industry pros and customers alike. We are excited to have the opportunity to give back through this project.”
Stonewall Columbus’ work is propelled by several corporate partners who generously support their programs. The organization believes in long-term, win-win partnerships that help the corporate partners reach their goals while contributing to Stonewall’s mission and work. Through the gift of dollars and time these companies demonstrate a strong commitment to the LGBTQ+ community in Central Ohio, and Platform is proud to support.
“We are so thankful for this partnership opportunity with Platform Beer. As a nonprofit organization, Stonewall relies on the economic support and uplifting of individuals and companies to enable us to do the critical work of supporting the LGBTQIA+ community here in Columbus and across Central Ohio,” said Densil Porteous, Stonewall Columbus executive director and CEO. “This partnership demonstrates the continued commitment Platform Beer has to creating a more inclusive community.”
Consumers can support their local LGBTQIA+ community sip after sip with Pride Martian. Available in stores across Ohio or through Platform with their free home delivery service.
