A memorial service will be held at 2 pm at the Stonewall Center on High for Stephen Murphy who passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 18th. All friends are welcome.
Stephen was a Committee Chair on the Ohio Pride Networking group at JP Morgan Chase. He brought enthusiasm and energy to all the events he was a part of at Chase, whether it was photographing the Fore Pride! golf event, or organizing the company’s participation at the annual Pride festival. He supported the Chase softball team’s participation and raised his hand for almost all requests for volunteers. Stephen also enjoyed sitting with friends during the summer at the Shakespeare in the Park performances.
Stephen was a volunteer for several Stonewall events and other LGBT organizations. He was enthusiastic about supporting the LGBT community and felt the community had become his family.
Stephen is survived by 4 children, but he also leaves behind a family of friends who have been inspired by his spirit.
