I’ve been a board member of Stonewall Columbus since 2021, and before that was a board member of Family Pride Network from 2017 – 2021. Family Pride Network (FPN) merged with Stonewall Columbus in 2021, and is now a program of SWC. The mission of Stonewall Columbus to increase visibility, inclusion and connection for the LGBTQ+ community is extremely important and something I am truly passionate about! I wanted to get involved with Stonewall Columbus to give back to our community, find more community connection, and help support and fulfill the mission of this incredible LGBTQ+ organization.
My career is in Marketing, but advocating for our community is a driving force for me. I am also a recently elected official as a local city council member and it is important that we continue to uplift and elevate the needs of our LGBTQ+ community, especially at the local level. My wife and I have 4 children, and our pathway to parenthood was long and challenging. I am honored to be able to provide support, share resources, and drive efforts for prospective LGBTQ+ parents on their own journey and pathway to parenthood, as a part of the ongoing programming of SWC.
When I joined the board of Stonewall Columbus, I also became a member! I didn’t realize all the invaluable work and programs that Stonewall has done in our community to secure space for the LGBTQ+ community, beyond the incredible annual Pride Festival, and I wanted to make sure I was investing in SWC because they are investing in us! Becoming a member of Stonewall Columbus is an important pathway to supporting the overall LGBTQ+ community.
