Title of Position: Development Coordinator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the execution of the Development/Fundraising activities of the Stonewall Columbus organization.
The Development Coordinator will provide support to, and work in collaboration with, the Executive Director, staff, and board. In collaboration with the Executive Director and Business Development Director, the Development Coordinator is responsible for streamlining and maintaining Stonewall’s grant and reporting processes as well as sustaining relationships with foundations and select corporations. Fund development is essential to the overall success of the organization and therefore it is imperative that the person in this role be dedicated to providing the support needed by the organization to assist the Executive Director in securing the resources necessary for current and future programs and services offered to the community.
The Coordinator will also work with the Executive Director to write and deliver the organization’s key messaging through print and digital marketing collateral including, but not limited to Stonewall’s annual report, website, email campaigns, and media relations.

The schedule for this position requires weekday and evening hours to manage activities and committee meetings to benefit the organization. Supervision of contract and volunteer staff likely.
Development/Fundraising 50%
- Provide support to ensure the successful execution of the organization’s annual fundraising campaigns and initiatives.

- Help to plan and execute member/donor cultivation and stewardship.
- events (in-person and virtual) for members/donors and prospective members/donors
- Manage sustaining membership donor communications.
- Maintain an effective database management of all donor records.
- Posts all donations, and Pride Sponsorship and gift receivables in Salesforce database.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for development/fundraising related agency events, including annual Pride events (VIP spaces at Pride).
- Serve as the point person for donor/member recognition opportunities.
- Provide support to the Board in fundraising activity including training, development of collateral materials, relationship management, and ongoing donor cultivation efforts.
- Develop effective relationships with donors (both individual and foundation/corporate) philanthropic community, and partner organizations.
- Assist with special events and special projects as needed.
Communications 40%
- Copy write and edit key organizational messages for the purpose of grant writing, annual campaigns, annual reports, social media, and other various collateral.
- Assist in the designing, curating, and publishing of written, video, and photo content across Stonewall’s communications channels.
- Stay informed/knowledgeable on best practices for email and direct mail strategies.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of all donor/member email communications needed for each donor program, special events, and donor prospect campaigns.
- Utilize and remain up to date on knowledge of email tools (MailChimp, Outlook, etc) and scheduling donor/member emails as needed.
- Collaborate with staff to produce regularly scheduled e-newsletters through MailChimp and assist with the sourcing of content for Stonewall web stories as needed.
- Coordinate publishing of Stonewall Annual Update to members and donors/sponsors.
- Update, create and maintain the development/fundraising webpages (WordPress).
- Review organizational collateral/designs ensuring they are in line with guidelines.
- Assist with Executive Director and organization communications as needed.
Meeting/Event Coordination 10%
- Conduct Center site tours.
- As needed, setup scheduled events at the Center and conduct post-event cleanup, such duties can include the following: deliver refreshments and food; setup and take-down of bars; move, arrange, and/or remove furniture; setup and take down of AV equipment; general cleaning duties; review of inventory of items used for event; inspect the space of the event for damaged areas; organize and clean areas, etc.
- Check room set ups prior to guest arrival, ensuring all details align with client’s requirements and center standards.

- Skilled in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Office, Excel, and Internet.
- Desired experience with CRM database—SalesForce in particular.

- Exceptional time management skills and ability to complete projects on time.
- Requires balancing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- You must be a self-motivator and highly organized.
- Working knowledge of HTML, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suites/Cloud, in particular Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be skilled at presenting ideas
- Must be comfortable in both Mac & PC environments.
- Time-management skills and day-to-day project flexibility are required, along with a sense of urgency to deliver projects under tight deadlines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Congruence with agency mission and values.
- Bachelors’ degree or comparable experience.
- At least (2 – 3) two – three years’ experience in fundraising/development or grant writing.
- At least on year of communications, and/or project management experience desired.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and pass a criminal background check.
