Stonewall Columbus Recognizes Grange Insurance as the 2024 Community Honoree – Central Ohio Business Ally of the Year
COLUMBUS, OHIO – June 4th, 2024 – Stonewall Columbus is proud to recognize Grange Insurance as the 2024 Community Honoree – Central Ohio Business Ally of the Year. This recognition highlights Grange Insurance’s unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and their significant contributions to supporting the LGBTQ+ community in Central Ohio.
Grange Insurance has demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication to creating an inclusive environment both within their organization and in the broader community. Some of their notable DEI initiatives include:
- Workforce Diversity: Grange Insurance has focused on enhancing diversity among their staff, with over 50% of their new officer and manager hires being diverse. This commitment reflects their broader DEI strategy encompassing workforce, workplace, marketplace, and community engagements.
- Community Engagement and Support: The company actively contributes to advancing racial equality and supports various health and human services through its community relations programs, aiming to make a positive impact on local and broader scales.
- Associate Resource Groups (ARGs): Since 2016, Grange Insurance has supported multiple associate resource groups, including the Pride Partnership and Allies group. This group is dedicated to creating a safe and rewarding work environment for all associates, with a particular focus on empowering the LGBTQ+ community.
- Training and Education: Grange offers extensive training and educational opportunities covering topics such as creating an inclusive culture, unconscious bias, and inclusive leadership, fostering an environment of understanding and acceptance.
- Inclusive Policies: Grange Insurance has updated its Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and harassment policies to explicitly include sexual orientation and gender identity. They also provide inclusive benefits like domestic partner benefits and a gender transition resource guide.
These efforts have garnered Grange Insurance recognition as an Outstanding Diversity Organization in 2022, and their Chief Operations Officer was named an Outstanding Diversity Champion in 2023.
