Gay Black Boy: A Conversation
with author of “Letters to a Gay Black Boy” Terry Dyer
Join Stonewall Columbus Executive Director Densil Porteous in conversation with author of “Letters to a GAY BLACK BOY” Terry Dyer in collaboration with Columbus’ Black Futures Week.
In June of 2020 Porteous joined the Stonewall Columbus organization as its interim executive director; in July of 2020 Dyer celebrated the release of his first book “Letters to a GAY BLACK BOY,” a memoir that typifies the nuances of identity with conversations around racism, inequality, homophobia and more. Join as Dyer and Porteous explore the intersections of Blackness, Maleness, Queerness…a conversation inspired by the question “As a gay Black man is this the life younger you would have imagined for you?”
Dyer is the key note speaker for the 2024 Compete Sports Diversity Conference happening in Columbus June 12 – 14.
