On Saturday, October 9th, the Marriage Equality Caravan will be stopping off in Columbus, Ohio for a rally held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church located at 93 W. Weisheimer Rd. The Rally will be from 10am until 12:30pm and will include a potluck. All community members and those interested in marriage equality do not want to miss this. Admission is free and folks are encouraged to bring a dish to share. Join Co-Sponsors, First Unitarian Universalist Church, Stonewall’s Ohio Freedom to Marry Coalition, Speak Out, Human Right Campaign-Columbus, and Stonewall CAN (Community Action Network), in seeing this national caravan head to Washington DC on October 11th for National Coming out Day.
From San Francisco to Washington D.C., a group of same sex marriage proponents will be presenting a program in 11 stops during their 7 day tour de force of the country describing their experiences, networking with local communities and sharing ideas and strategies with local organizations. The caravan will stop in Columbus and feature presenters that have been married in San Francisco, GLBT advocates, military veterans, PFLAG parents, families and clergy and the author of, “Why You Should Give a Damn About Gay Marriage,” Dr. Davina Kotulski. The rally will also include the viewing of the film, “Freedom to Marry,” as well as feature couples that were included in the documentary. Books and dvds will be available to purchase.
