Tyreese Bowman is a Columbus native with a strong background in nonprofit and community-centered work. He is a graduate of Capital University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and participated as a liaison exchange student studying International Business Ethics at London Southbank University.
Since 2015, Tyreese has worked in the nonprofit space supporting LGBTQ+ youth, BIPOC communities, and people living with HIV. He currently serves as the Outreach Coordinator for the Short North Alliance, where he connects local businesses and community stakeholders to programs centered on community building, safety, and public art.
In his current role, Tyreese has led outreach for several key initiatives, including the Good Neighbor Pledge, which encourages businesses to adopt shared standards around inclusion, safety, and cleanliness; Short North CPASS, which provides free transit passes for employees working in the Short North Arts District; and Fostering Belonging and De-escalation Training, a free community training that equips businesses with best practices for interacting with patrons, people experiencing homelessness, and individuals facing mental health crises.
Tyreese brings a grounded, relationship-driven approach to his service on the Stonewall Columbus Board of Trustees, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and fostering belonging across shared public spaces.
