This baby boomer’s formative years were spent on a farm in Northwest Ohio followed by earning degrees at Kent State University and the Ohio State University along with a two-year stint as an Army medical service corps officer. I spent most of my working life as an insurance company sales marketing development officer with retirement in 2015. I had been married and am blessed with a son and daughter along with three wonderful young grandchildren. My sense of social activism, compassion, acceptance and love have been nurtured at the Lewis Center North Unitarian-Universalist Congregation; then starting in 2013 as a member of the Stonewall Columbus Trailblazers and subsequently in 2016 as a member of the Stonewall LGBT Veterans group. To describe me in a word, it would be engaged not retired.
