Missy Anderson was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and has lived in Columbus since 1995. Missy attended THE Ohio State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with a minor in Women’s Studies. She is currently the Manager of Marketing Creative Traffic & Operations with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. Her 20+ year marketing career has expanded across account and client management, marketing creative and production within retail, to her current role focused on marketing operations. Missy also proudly serves on her company’s ERG Leadership Board, GroPride, as the Community Relations Head and helped launch their LGBTQ+ ERG.
Missy formerly served on the board for Family Pride Network. As a Board Member for Stonewall Columbus, Missy is passionate to serve our LGBTQ+ community with resources, support, and encouragement on their journey to creating their family and becoming parents. She has also been involved in local campaign political races and continues to advocate for equality within her community and works to impact change at the local level.
Outside of her career and non-profit work, Missy’s focus is her wife, Leslie, and their four children. Their journey to creating their family guides Missy’s passion to continue to give back to our LGBTQ+ community on their own journey to the parenthood path they desire.
Missy and her wife also own a vacation rental business that they not only treasure moments with their own family together there but also work hard to provide an enjoyable environment for other families and guests to stay and create their own memories together. They are raising their four children in Grove City.
