We are deeply concerned by the news that Equitas Health has paused all OHIV hotline and related services—such as the HIV/STI prevention hotline, condom distribution, at-home testing kits, and outreach—due to delays in federal grant funding. These critical services have long served as lifelines for LGBTQ+ Ohioans and other at-risk populations across our state.
The temporary shutdown of these programs not only leaves community members without access to prevention tools but also disrupts trusted sources of information, support, and care. For many in our community, these services have been a first point of contact—offering nonjudgmental, affirming access to resources that save lives.
Stonewall Columbus stands with Equitas Health, the Ohio Department of Health, and other community partners as they work to address this disruption and restore services. We also call upon the CDC and federal officials to expedite funding to ensure the continuity of care and prevention efforts in Ohio.
In the meantime, we encourage individuals to access support and services through the following providers:

We are reminded, during Pride Month, that community is about showing up—especially in moments of uncertainty. Our community deserves better, and we will continue advocating until services are restored and protected.
