Yoga Class

Yoga class
Saturdays beginning February 13, 2016 – 11:00am-12:00pm
6 weeks
Non-Refundable Class Fee:
$25 per person for members of the Center on High (will be verified)
$30 per person for non-members of the Center on High
OR drop-in class fee of $5 per person

Instructor: Vanessa Schumm-Welch

This six week course is suitable for those who have never done yoga before to those who have some experience. It will introduce body awareness, basic yoga poses and their components, breath work and relaxation techniques. Students will discover newly developed strength, flexibility and mind/body awareness at their own level in a relaxed, lighthearted atmosphere. This class is most appropriate for those who can easily get up and down from the floor.

Open to everyone. No experience necessary. Students must provide their own mat and blanket.

Exploring Meditation Class

Saturdays – 10:15-11:00am
Instructor: Nick Conn
No registration or payment required – just drop in!

Participants will explore how to find stillness within through mind/body awareness at their own level in a relaxed, lighthearted, welcoming atmosphere.  This class is suitable for those who have never done meditation to those who have some experience.  It will introduce body awareness, breath work and relaxation techniques.  There are no physical requirements for this class.  No experience necessary.

Ballroom Dancing Class

Ballroom Dance
Thursdays beginning February 18, 2016
6 Week Class

Beginners class will meet at 6:30pm
Intermediate class will meet at 7:30pm

Individuals: $25 per person, $22.50 for members of the Center on High
Couples: $50 per couple, $45 for members of the Center on High
Note: Membership will be verified

Payment is required prior to the 1st class.

Register Online for the Ballroom Dancing Class

There is a minimum of 4 couples or 8 singles for this class. If the minimum requirement is not met, the class will be cancelled and class fees will be refunded.

The Beginners Class will learn Waltz, Tango, and Cha Cha.
The Intermediate Class will learn Foxtrot, Rumba, Swing, Waltz, Tango, and ChaCha.
Classes are open to everyone, with or without a dance partner.

Instructor: Jeff Grace

Jeff Grace has been dancing since the age of 8.He has been teaching ballroom dancing for over 20 years. Jeff has worked with all ages from pre-teen to adult, including coaching a college and high school ballroom dance team. Jeff is the former owner of the Akron Dance Academy in Akron, Ohio. He currently teaches ballroom dancing at area churches and coaches the Beechcroft High School Ballroom Dance team.

Drawing and Painting with Paul Richmond


1st & 3rd Wednesdays beginning April 6, 2016 6:30-9:30pm
6 sessions

Non-refundable 6 Session class fee:
$72 – Members of the Center on High (will be verified)
$90 – Non-members of the Center on High

Class Size is Limited to 15 Students

Join artist Paul Richmond for an open-studio art class at the Stonewall Center. Participants can work in any 2D medium of their choosing – graphite drawing, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic and oil paint, and more. This class is for everyone from beginners to experienced artists, with an emphasis on the creative process. Students will work independently on projects of their choosing with feedback from the instructor in a relaxed, informal setting. Whether you are looking to explore a creative outlet for the first time, hone your skills, or find a community that shares your artistic interests, join us at Stonewall for this exciting, creative opportunity. Basic drawing materials will be provided. If you prefer to work in another medium, please bring supplies with you to class. Instructor can also make supply recommendations. The fee for the class is for 6 sessions.

Instructor: Paul Richmond

Paul Richmond is a fine artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He is represented by the Lyman-Eyer Gallery in Provincetown and his work is included in several art anthologies. He is the Associate Art Director for Dreamspinner Press and has created illustrations for over 150 novel covers. Paul also co-founded the international anti-bullying You Will Rise Project. He graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design in 2002, and has taught numerous art classes around Columbus, including at CCAD and the Columbus Museum of Art.
