Over 32 women from Columbus and beyond, joined together at Stonewall Columbus on Wednesday, March 9th for the launching of a new women’s LBT and allied Book Club, titled, “What’s Her Story.” This first gathering featured an introduction by Executive Director, Kate Anderson, and program overview led by Co-Coordinators, Missy Hossman and Becky Shaw, Stonewall Volunteer Team Members. “We were completely overwhelmed with the positive response we received on the Club,” stated Missy Hossman,” Co-Coordinator of the group. Becky Shaw, Co-Coordinator, also added, “Clearly there is a great deal of interest in the community from women that want to gather with others to read, discuss and enjoy being a part of a larger group of women.” Due to the popularity and response of participants, the Book Club will meet on three evenings in April at the Stonewall Community Center (1160 N. High Street Columbus). All LBT and allied women interested in attending the Club, may attend any or all of the upcoming sessions on Wed. April 6th, April 13th and April 20th at 6:30PM. The first book selection will be Sue Monk’s “The Secret Life of Bees,” followed by “The Milk of Human Kindness” by Lori Lake. Stonewall Columbus is partnering with An Open Book (685 N. High St.) which is offering book discounts to all Women’s Book Club members.
