2020 has been a challenging year for most of us, and it was so for Stonewall Columbus as we navigated the challenges of serving our community safely during a pandemic, tried to stay afloat amid the reimagining of our largest annual fundraiser, and adapted to a new virtual normal. In spite of the challenges of the year we persisted…but the challenge is far from over and we still need the community’s help.
While 2020 is almost at an end there’s still plenty of time to make a difference for Stonewall Columbus and the Central Ohio LGBTQ+ community—we hope you will. In 2021 Stonewall will celebrate 40 years of service in and to the Central Ohio LGBTQ+ and allied communities.
As Stonewall looks to our future we aim to fully live into our place in the community by affirming and demonstrating our commitment to uplifting all the multidimensional voices of the Central Ohio LGBTQ+ community; specifically, those voices in our community who need the most support. Stonewall aims to build the capacity that will allow us to grow our ability to offer evolving services that meet the in the moment needs of our community’s diverse population and sustained programs that ensure we create deep and lasting outcomes true to our mission “to increase visibility, inclusion, and connection for the LGBTQ+ community.”
In 2021, with community partnership, we will…
- Identify and connect needed services to the community.
- Introduce accountability forums garnering community feedback.
- Enhance and expand programming relative to community interest.
I know you care just as much about the LGBTQ+ community in Columbus, as I do, and that’s why I know our community can count on you to donate to show your commitment to our community’s future—not only in Columbus but across Ohio and beyond.
Please make a donation today to help us fully live into our mission.
