Craig Chadwell (he/him) is all about connecting people, about loving people, and about living life with a sense of humor — whether that’s through technology, community involvement, or a playful word pun. A Central Ohio native with family ties in London, Ohio, Craig grew up in Galloway before planting roots in the Gahanna/Blacklick area. He studied Public Relations Journalism at The Ohio State University, where he still proudly marches with the TBDBITL Alumni, and later earned his BA in Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Craig spent 20 years with Computer Helper Publishing, creators of the church management software, Church Windows. Starting in Technical Support, he grew into roles including Marketing Manager and Webmaster, gaining experience across customer care, digital marketing, and technology solutions. Since then, he has continued building a career in web development, digital strategy, project coordination, and content management. What drives him most is making technology less intimidating and more empowering for others — a role he naturally fills for friends and family whenever their phones, computers, or even car connections act up.
Outside of work, Craig’s world is full of two-wheeled miles, music, and family. He’s both a motorcyclist and bicyclist who loves exploring country roads on the motorcycle and trails on the bicycle. By bicycling, he and his family have raised more than $10,000 riding with Pelotonia to support cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
Music is a constant in Craig’s life. A member of his barbershop quartet for nearly 30 years, he also plays multiple saxophones (not all at once), the French horn, and Ohio State Marching Band Alumni events, the alto horn. He serves as Assistant Music Director at Gates Fourth United Methodist Church in German/Merion Village and is proud to be part of such an open and affirming church.
At home, Craig and his husband Mike share life with their three grown kids — Brea, Dominic, and daughter-in-law Nikki, plus a soon-to-arrive first grandbaby, and Cassady. Advocacy runs in the family as their daughter, Cassady, is involved in the LGBTQ+ community in Columbus as she manages, teaches voice, dance, and more at the Short North business, Studio West 614, an immersive space where all people have a place to dance, create, and grow without judgment. Though their adult kids are out of the house, their home is rarely quiet thanks to three spirited Australian Shepherds — Bogan, Larrikin, and Mozzie — who keep things lively and just a little chaotic. A love of gardening and landscaping, passed down by both his parents, fills his summers with tropicals, perennials, and roses. OK, and a few annuals – just for flair and color.
For Craig, joining the Stonewall Columbus team is more than a professional step — it’s a perfect merger. It’s a chance to combine years of digital experience with his passion for connecting people, celebrating identity, and creating spaces where all feel welcome. He sees technology not just as code and content but as a bridge — one that can amplify stories, strengthen community ties, and expand access to resources. He looks forward to working alongside staff, volunteers, and community members to support Stonewall’s mission and ensure every LGBTQ+ person in Columbus feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
