Due to last year’s successful Pampered Chef fundraiser for Trans Awareness programming, Khristopher Lowe, everyone’s favorite PC consultant, has offered to provide another similar event for the Stonewall Speak OUT group.
All proceeds from the event will go to support Stonewall’s Speak OUT Program which was formed this year as a way to reach out to allies and offer support to existing glbt organizations. “I am so pleased to have this opportunity,” stated Cheri Meyers, Speak OUT Founder and Ally Coordinator at Stonewall, “It is a great way to gather like-minded members of our community for a fun event. While our membership continues to steadily grow with each passing month, I am still actively recruiting new allies and the funds raised at this event will enable us to further promote our group and our message of acceptance and education”.
Speak OUT has quickly developed into an active group that has participated in the Anti-DOMA rally in May, Pride 2004, the Operation Save America protests as well as helping out local groups like the Human Rights Campaign with literature drops and at the monthly Gallery Hop. Speak OUT Meetings are held the third Saturday of every month at Stonewall and include educational topics as well as offer support.
