The Stonewall organization commends the City of Columbus for once again achieving a 100+ rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s municipality equality index–the index looks at how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are of LGBTQ+ people who live and work here.
“It is clear there is a commitment from City leadership to support the LGBTQ+ community here in Columbus” said Densil Porteous, Stonewall Columbus’ executive director. “Since earning its first 100 rating in 2013 the City of Columbus has pushed to annually meet the increased expectations of HRC’s index; it is affirming to know that the City’s administration surpasses those expectations each time. As a queer centered organization in the 14th largest city in the Country we hope that as City leaders come and go they will continue to demonstrate this commitment to members of the LGBTQ+ community in Columbus.”
The Stonewall organization acknowledges our Dublin neighbors who also earned a 100 rating on the municipality equality index this year.
