As knitting becomes a favorite hobby of many, and a great way to relieve stress and be creative, Stonewall Columbus has formed a new knitting group, “Stitch N Bitch.” This will be a way for new and old knitting fans to join together in a social and informal atmosphere to work on their craft. The first session on Wednesday, December 1st at 7pm at the Stonewall Community Center (1160 N. High Street), will feature an introduction to knitting for beginners and will be presented by Kate Burdett, Stonewall Volunteer Team Member and Founder of the Stonewall “Stitch N Bitch” group.
“We are so excited about this group and believe it will attract current knitters as well as bring out community folks, like myself, that have wanted to learn to knit,” stated Program Director, Kellye Pinkleton. She added, “Hobbies such as knitting are a great way to relieve stress as well as a way to create something to give others, especially during the holiday season.”
The “Stitch N Bitch” group is asking for donations, such as yarn and needles, from those that would like to support Stonewall’s efforts. To donate materials to the group, or for more information on participating and to RSVP to the Dec. 1st session, please contact Kellye Pinkleton at 614-930-2261 or email at xcvaxyrgba@fgbarjnyypbyhzohf.bet.
