Columbus, January 16th —Looking for some fun this spring? The sponsors of the Frostbite and Starlight Balls are proud to bring you the Spring Hop 2004, an alcohol and drug free women’s dance to be held on March 27, from 8:30 p.m. to midnight at Hillel, on the campus of The Ohio State University, 46 East 16th Avenue, Columbus. The hop will feature a local DJ, dancing, door and raffle prizes, and refreshments. Suggested donation for admittance is $5, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.The fact that in recent years, fewer and fewer women’s events have been held locally brought the sponsors together to organize the event. The dance is being coordinated by the Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization, serving the needs of the LGBT community; Stonewall Columbus, a human rights organization serving central Ohio through advocacy, community building and education; the Lesbian Business Association, created to promote and support women owned businesses in the GLBT community; Kaleidoscope Youth Coalition, a drop-in center for LGBTQ youth in the Central Ohio area; and Women’s Outreach for Women, a substance abuse prevention and education program of Amethyst, Inc.
The event is open to all women and children under 12 will be admitted free, but no structured childcare will be provided. For more information and parking details, call 614-228-6380 or email jbzrafbhgernpu@nby.pbz.
