The petition recently filed in the Supreme Court case involving Kim Davis seeks not only to excuse the harm caused to same-sex couples in Kentucky but to dismantle the landmark decision in Obergefell v. Hodges that guarantees marriage equality nationwide.
This is not simply a legal maneuver; it is a direct attempt to roll back hard-fought protections and relegate LGBTQ+ people to second-class citizenship. As an organization committed to visibility, inclusion, connection, and accountability, we reject any effort that would undo decades of progress toward equality.
