When someone you love comes out as LGBTQ+, the love doesn’t go anywhere — but the emotions that come with it often have nowhere to go.
This free educational workshop is for parents, caregivers, family members, and allies navigating the emotional landscape that comes with supporting an LGBTQ+ loved one. Whether you’re processing your own feelings, trying to show up better, or simply figuring out where to start — this space is for you. Educators, counselors, and school staff are also welcome.
Facilitated in partnership with Gina Minot, LISW-S of Resonance Columbus, this session will explore:
- The range of emotions parents and caregivers commonly experience — and why they’re valid
- How your own emotional processing affects your ability to support your child
- Practical tools for managing feelings like grief, fear, guilt, and uncertainty
- How to move toward greater connection and understanding
You don’t have to have it all figured out to be in this room. You just have to be willing to show up.
Presented by PFLAG Columbus in partnership with Resonance Columbus Gina Minot, LISW-S | resonancecolumbus.com
