THURSDAY, MARCH 3RD
1:00-3:00PM
On Thursday, March 3RD, at 1:00PM join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the historic Ohio Theatre with a guided tour of this 1928 Spanish Baroque style movie house. Designed by world-renowned architect Thomas Lamb, this “palace for the average man” was almost razed in 1969 to make way for a parking lot. Thanks to the support of the Columbus community, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) was formed and the theatre was saved. Today the beloved Ohio Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been declared a National Historic Landmark. It is the official State Theatre of Ohio.
Since parking can be an issue downtown, we have arranged for the King Avenue Church mini bus to transport us to and from the theatre. Parking in the church lot is free. Please arrive at the church by 12:30PM.
