Our Lunch and Learn on March 23RD features Helen Yee speaking on self-defense, chi gong, and the benefits of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine approaches to good health and well-being. As always, the talk starts at 11:00AM with lunch to follow provided by LifeCare Alliance.
Helen was born in Hong Kong and raised in Columbus. She is the co-founder of the American Institute of Alternative Medicine (AIMA) which was established in 1990. She is currently the CFO.
She is a graduate of Ohio Dominican University. As a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo, Helen has competed nationally and internationally and is a two-time National gold medalist. She was selected as an alternate for the 1988 US Olympic Team and in 1990 Helen competed on the U.S. Taekwondo team in Madrid at the 1st Women’s World Cup Taekwondo competition. She earned a silver medal at that event. She has received numerous honors in martial arts and teaches Tai Chi and Qi Gong at martial arts camps, conferences and seminars in the U.S. and abroad.
Helen serves on the site visit team of the Accreditation Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has been President of the Pacific Association of Women of Martial Arts, Executive board member for the Asian American Commerce Group, and Vice President of Stonewall Columbus. She has served on numerous boards and committees.
