Community and allies are invited to ask questions of local and state candidates
COLUMBUS (Oct 3, 2024) – Central Ohio’s LGBTQ+ community and allies are invited to Stonewall Columbus on Thursday, October 3, at 5 p.m. for a Meet the Candidates forum. This forum will give Central Ohio residents the opportunity to have their voices heard by those running for local and statewide office in Columbus and Franklin County.
Karen Hewitt, M.Ed. (They/Ze/She) of K. Hewitt Consulting will moderate this public event, wherein each candidate can introduce themselves and their relationship to theLGBTQ+ community. This will be followed by a question and answer session from those in attendance.
Attendees wishing to pose a question to the candidates may do so by submitting their question(s) in writing at the event. Questions will be prioritized by topic, with themoderator asking the most frequently submitted questions first.
Brad Henry, one of the organizers of the event said, “Educated voters are equipped to make the best choices on election day. The LGBTQ+ community is once again voting for our lives, so we must equip ourselves with the best information available.”
All candidates running for local and statewide office in Columbus and Franklin County have been invited to the forum and information about participating candidates will be released the week of the event.
