10:30 AM
@ Blackhand Gorge
We will meet at the Main Parking Lot and hike the Blackhand and Quarry Rim Trails. This hike is approximately 5.5 miles and will take about 2 hours. Please note while most of this is paved trail, the Quarry Rim Trail, which is the most scenic, is not paved, often muddy, somewhat steep and requires some endurance. We have determined that this is a medium-level hike and no pets are allowed as it’s a state nature preserve. Please note that we will leave for this hike promptly at 10:30 AM.
Some notes on directions: From Columbus, it will take you about an hour to get to the park. Off of Route 161/16, you will make a right onto Toboso Rd. You will see small buildings on your right that marks the main parking lot. Set your GPS for Toboso Rd SE Heath, OH 43056. Note: The road is also called Gratiot, just so you don’t get confused. But either road leads to the main parking lot.
There are bathrooms available on site and plenty of parking.
