Andrea Cambern to help Launch “Jump Start” this Saturday!
– a Women’s Health and Wellness Program in partnership with Stonewall ColumbusDue to the enthusiasm of last spring’s Jump Start program – a women’s health initiative, Stonewall Columbus is proud to partner with Jump Start coordinators by providing a permanent home where programs can be held and access to information will be readily available, both on their web site and in the building. By combining education and recreational activities, Jump Start promises to appeal to a broad range of Columbus’ LBT community. Activities will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 10am – 12pm.
Andrea Cambern, Channel 10’s news anchor and “Commit to Be Fit” guru, will help kick off this 6-month program on Saturday, December 11 from 10-12 p.m. at the Stonewall Columbus Community Center (1160 N. High Street). Program presenters will also be available during the meet and greet.
The kick-off will provide an overview of Jump Start programs and allow women the opportunity to register for all 12 programs that will take place in the next 6 months.
Jump Start offers women the opportunity to gather and learn as a community and to focus on total health by attending informative health sessions and participating in a variety of activities including, yoga, interactive workshops, hiking and belly dancing, just to name a few. “This is a great opportunity for women that want to take time out to focus on their health in an informal and empowering environment,” stated Kelly Jaeger, Stonewall Board Member and Co-Founder of Jump Start. “This is an amazing opportunity for women who desire to be fit but need the basics to get started. It’s also great for “fit” individuals who want to discover new techniques and to learn the latest trends in staying fit.” added Mary B. Relotto, Jump Start Co-Founder and Coordinator.”
The Jump Start kick-off is free. Costs to register for the 6 month program are as follows:

1-year membership to Stonewall, which includes the Stonewall Journal and Lavender Listings Entry fee to participate in the 2nd annual Run for Pride 5k Access to all Jump Start programs

$5 Fee for one-time events
*The first 30 to register for all 12 programs will receive a special gift bag.
* Gift certificates will be available for those who want to give the gift of health for the holidays.
