Compensation Range: $55,000 – $65,000, commensurate with experience
Schedule: Full-time, overtime as approved by the Director, regular evening and weekend work, and increased hours during Pride season.
POSITION SUMMARY
Stonewall Columbus seeks an Assistant Director, Business Operations & Infrastructure to support the Director of Business Operations in overseeing the organization’s systems, facilities, event operations, and operational execution. This role will lead day-to-day operational functions, including infrastructure management, facility use, event execution, Pride-related logistics, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement of internal processes.
The position is intended for a highly organized, solutions-oriented operations leader who can manage complex logistics, supervise staff and volunteers, collaborate across departments, and strengthen the operational backbone needed to support organizational growth and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operations & Infrastructure Management
- Support oversight of the Stonewall Columbus Community Center, including maintenance, safety, and overall functionality.
- Manage vendor relationships related to facilities, maintenance, and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain systems for tracking organizational assets, equipment, and infrastructure needs.
- Identify operational challenges and proactively implement solutions.
Pride & Major Event Operations
- Lead operational planning and execution of Pride Festival, March, and related events.
- Coordinate vendors, logistics, permits, and operational systems.
- Support safety planning and crisis management coordination.
- Oversee Pride-related timelines, budgets in partnership with leadership, and execution readiness.
- Manage relationships with Pride committees, volunteers, and external partners.
Facilities, Rentals & Event Coordination
- Oversee building use, rentals, and event logistics throughout the year.
- Conduct site tours and manage client relationships related to facility use.
- Ensure proper setup, execution, and post-event processes for all events.
- Support revenue-generating opportunities through space utilization.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise coordinators, part-time staff, contractors, vendors, and volunteers as assigned.
- Provide guidance, training, and oversight to ensure high-quality execution.
- Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
Operational Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, checklists, and workflows.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability across systems and processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Advancement to support event-related revenue opportunities, including Pride sponsorship execution and rentals.
- Collaborate with Community Programs & Learning to support program logistics and space needs.
- Coordinate with Executive Operations to ensure alignment on organizational priorities and timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 4-6+ years of experience in operations, event management, facilities management, or a related field.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience coordinating complex logistics and multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience supporting the LGBTQ+ community or a related public-sector human-services field.
- Proficiency with computer programs necessary to complete the above tasks, including Outlook, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and other applicable systems.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and pass a criminal background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is fully in-office, including regular evening and weekend coverage, active presence at the Community Center and off-site events, and the opportunity to flex scheduling with volunteer support. The position requires the ability to manage both strategic oversight and hands-on execution.
