Sterling Clemmons is a Columbus transplant originally from Detroit, Michigan, with a professional background rooted in public policy, public health, and community-centered systems change. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy Analysis from The Ohio State University and began serving the community immediately following graduation.
Early in her career, Sterling provided workforce and leadership development training to LGBTQ+ youth of color in Detroit, where a significant portion of the young people she served identified as Trans women of color and had experience with survival economies, including sex work. This work shaped her long-standing commitment to equity-driven, trauma-informed approaches to service delivery.
Sterling went on to earn a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University while simultaneously returning to Columbus to manage HIV and STI testing across Central Ohio under Equitas Health. In this role, she oversaw regional testing efforts and specialty programs, including Mozaic, which focused on culturally responsive care and outreach.
Sterling currently serves as an Operations Transformation Consultant within the Government and Public Service sector at Deloitte, where she supports organizations navigating complex systems change. She remains deeply engaged in the Greater Columbus community and is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., bringing a values-driven, action-oriented lens to her service on the Stonewall Columbus Board of Trustees.
