Missy Anderson was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and has called Columbus home since 1995. She attended The Ohio State University, earning a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Women’s Studies.
Missy is the Manager of Marketing Creative Traffic & Operations at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. Her 20+ year career spans account and client management, retail marketing creative and production, and marketing operations. She also serves on her company’s ERG Leadership Board, GroPride, as Community Relations Head—and helped launch the organization’s LGBTQ+ ERG.
Missy formerly served on the board of Family Pride Network. As a board member for Stonewall Columbus, she is committed to helping LGBTQ+ people access resources, support, and encouragement—especially those on a path to building their family.
Outside of work and nonprofit leadership, Missy’s world centers on her wife, Leslie, and their four children. Their family-building journey continues to shape her advocacy and her commitment to ensuring LGBTQ+ families feel seen and supported.
Missy and her wife also own a vacation rental business—creating a welcoming space where families can gather, rest, and make memories. They are raising their four children in Grove City.
