Michael Smithson

Michael is an Ohio native and originally from Cincinnati. He was a Columbus resident from 1999-2005, spent time in Florida and Cleveland, and then moved back to Columbus in 2013.

Michael is an entrepreneur and business owner who serves as the President and CEO of On Air Communications Inc., a wireless site development and consulting firm he founded in 2002. He and his team handle the program management, site acquisition, leasing, purchase, and zoning work around cellular tower sites across the entire US for its clients, including several fortune 500 companies.

Michael has also been involved with many charitable and non-profit organizations over the years. He most recently served on the Board of Governors with The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for 8 years, the last two as National Co-Chair of the Board. He is a passionate activist, very engaged in our community and excited to serve the LGBTQ+ community as a member of the Stonewall Board.
