Dedicated to community, arts, and culture as essential to a community’s quality of life, Kris Jackson has passionately embraced and shared his commitment through service and leadership. A native of Akron, Ohio, he has proudly called Columbus, Ohio home since 2020.
Kris has an extensive background in the arts, including years of volunteering with Players by the Sea, Jacksonville Beach’s premier community theatre. As Director of the New Voices program, he supported emerging playwrights by providing mentorship and staging opportunities for their original works. He also served as Volunteer Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator, and eventually as Board Member-at-Large, Board President, and Managing Director. In recognition of his contributions, he was named Board President Emeritus in 2022.
With a deep passion for music and musical theatre, Kris has directed and produced several large-scale productions, including the critically acclaimed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and RENT: The Musical. His creative expertise extends beyond theatre, as he has served as a Music Producer, Artist and Repertoire Director, and Artist Brand Manager.
In addition to his professional roles, Kris is the Vice President of Operations and Senior Portfolio Manager for Star High Management and the Board President of the SIGMA 614 Foundation. He has served on multiple nonprofit boards and was recently honored as a 2024 “Game Changer” in Who’s Who in Black Columbus 18th Edition.
A proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., where he serves as International Deputy Chief of Staff, he resides in the Grandview area. Kris enjoys traveling, spending time with his godchildren, and loving on his mini sheepadoodle Oliver Spin-Sir.
