Dr. Terrence Brooks is a native of Toledo, Ohio, and has proudly called Columbus home for more than 15 years. His educational journey began as a Buckeye, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in English. He went on to earn a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University and a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Franklin University.
Terrence has been active in Columbus’s LGBTQ+ community through a range of efforts, including Columbus Urban Pride, New Leaf, United Way’s Pride Leadership program, and identity advocacy in workplace and campus settings. He has also served as a Board Member for Kaleidoscope Youth Center.
Professionally, Terrence currently serves as the Senior Director of Student Life at Columbus State Community College, supporting engagement and belonging efforts for students across the institution.
Outside of work and community leadership, Terrence enjoys time with his husband, Michael, and their fur-baby, Angel. He’s also a proud godfather to seven wonderful humans and values staying connected with chosen family and friends.
