In the fall of 2022 the Stonewall Columbus organization was approached by the new owners of the location formerly occupied by the Garden–just north of the Stonewall Center. The developer’s had a vision for a new residential building that would aim to enrich the neighborhood, while also maintaining its history. Often, when new developments come into a community there is concern for the type of impact it may have–how things will change. When the Black Gold Capital team approached the Stonewall organization with BGC’s vision, we knew we had to consider a number of factors before moving anything forward–ultimately however, we were guided by our need to be sustained for the needs of our current moment and the needs of future generations.
