The Center

The Stonewall Columbus organization moved into the facility in December 1995 and purchased the buildings in 2005.

The main/front building facing High St. was built in 1957 for the State Savings Bank, it was labeled 1160-1170 when it was first opened. The building in the back (14-18 E. 4th Ave.) wasn’t attached until 2018; that building was built in 1922 by George Crane, the founder of the Crane Cigar Company.

In 2013, Stonewall Columbus set out on a journey to raise funds to help revamp the Center on High in an effort to evolve services and better meet the needs of the LGBTQ+ community; in 2017 renovation and remodeling began and in 2018 the building reopened as the Stonewall Columbus Community Center. The Center includes 12,000 sq. ft. of public space for community programming and private/rental events; it serves as an epicenter for LGBTQ+ community support and services.

The Stonewall Columbus Community Center strives to be a safe, welcoming, and affirming place for the diverse LGBTQ+ community in Central Ohio and those who visit our region. When you visit this community center we will work to ensure you are affirmed, accepted, heard, and understood.

We are located in the Short North Neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio.
