2015: A Year in Review

Began the discharge review process with 12 LGBT veterans and had program nationally recognized by CNN, NPR and The New York Times.

Began the discharge review process with 12 LGBT veterans and saw our LGBT Veterans Discharge Review Program become nationally recognized by outlets such as CNN and The New York Times.

Hiking 2015 Collage

The Stonewall Columbus LGBT Hiking Club hosted 11 hikes with an average attendance of 50 people!

LGBTFest 2015 Collage

Stonewall Columbus presented the 4th annual LGBTFest in partnership with the Columbus International Film + Video Festival. The festival saw over 50 submissions from filmmakers worldwide and enjoyed robust attendance at all 4 nights of screenings!

In addition to the Stonewall Columbus Health & Wellness Month, we provided many other health-related services throughout the year!

Facilitated 35 Speakers Bureau presentations to various organizations around Ohio, including AEP (regarding transgender workplace inclusion); Southern District Federal Judges; and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank (on the issue of food scarcity in the LGBTQ community). Vowed & Proud 2015 Collage

The City of Columbus in partnership with Stonewall Columbus proudly presented a celebration of the Supreme Court’s historic marriage equality ruling. 15 couples were selected to be a part of this beautiful ceremony officiated by Mayor Michael B. Coleman!

Hosted an After Marriage Equality Legal Seminar to address the many questions regarding how state, federal and family law changes affected the LGBTQ community after the historic June 26, 2015 ruling.

Experienced an unprecedented rain out that closed down Pride and recovered all lost profit thanks to generous contributions from the community and a $10,000 grant from The Legacy Fund!

Stonewall Columbus was honored to host Jim Obergefell as the Grand Marshal and recognized 14 community leaders and activists for their work.
