Stonewall Columbus Pride has always been about more than a weekend—it’s about creating space for LGBTQ+ voices to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Over the years, our stages have welcomed artists, performers, and storytellers whose work reflects the joy, resilience, and complexity of our community.
One of those artists is Sandra Valls.
Sandra performed at Stonewall Columbus Pride in 2018, bringing her sharp humor, powerful storytelling, and unapologetic authenticity to our community. Her work—rooted in her lived experience as a proud Latina and lesbian—captured what Pride is meant to embody: visibility, connection, and joy grounded in truth.
We’re proud to share that Sandra has recently been named the 2026 Celestial Award honoree for Theatrical & Comedy, a national recognition presented by Women in Film & Television Texas. The award honors artists whose work not only demonstrates creative excellence but also advances representation and cultural impact.
Since her appearance at Stonewall Columbus Pride, Sandra’s career has continued to grow on national stages. She has appeared on major television platforms, toured extensively as a comedian, and most recently made her Broadway debut in Real Women Have Curves: The Musical. Her recognition with the Celestial Award is a testament to the power of telling authentic stories—and to the importance of communities that make room for those stories to be shared.
At Stonewall Columbus, we believe Pride stages matter. They are places where artists connect directly with community, where laughter becomes healing, and where representation can spark possibility. Seeing performers like Sandra Valls honored on national stages reminds us why this work is so important.
We celebrate Sandra’s success and are grateful to have been part of her journey. Her story reflects what happens when talent, authenticity, and community come together—and why Stonewall Columbus remains committed to uplifting LGBTQ+ voices year-round.
Congratulations, Sandra. We’re cheering you on.
