Compensation: $17-$20/hour based on education and experience
Schedule: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm (20 hours a week) – Overtime approved by management
POSITION SUMMARY

The schedule for this position requires weekday/evening hours as well as occasional weekend hours to manage activities to benefit the organization.
The Administrative Assistant serves as the first point of contact for community members, visitors, and partners of Stonewall Columbus. This role ensures a welcoming, affirming, and professional environment at the Center, while also providing some administrative support across the organization.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to creating an inclusive and positive experience for all who engage with Stonewall Columbus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Learn and understand the Stonewall Columbus organization and the Columbus community in an effort to best support community programs in relation to the Stonewall mission. Must be an individual who embraces innovation and continuous improvement, welcoming the challenge of finding creative ways to work smarter and connect with the community.
Front Desk & Community Support (90%)
- Greet and direct visitors, answer the main phone line, respond to general inquiries, and ensure a welcoming environment for all guests.
- Represent the Center, through oral and written communications.
- Provide community navigation support by offering basic resource information and referring visitors to staff, programs, or external partners as appropriate.
- Maintain a safe and orderly front desk and lobby space, ensuring materials are accessible and updated.
- Support daily building operations, including visitor check-in, mail distribution, and opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Provide clerical and administrative assistance, including scheduling, filing, data entry, copying, and correspondence.
- Manage office supplies inventory, coordinate vendor orders, and deliveries.
- Assist with organizational record keeping, reporting, and data entry in systems.
- Lead person in providing support of mailings or coordinating bulk mailing processes.
- Provide meeting support as needed (e.g., scheduling conference rooms, coordinating food, logistics).
Event & Program Support (10%)
- Provide administrative and logistical support for Stonewall Columbus programs and events, including Pride.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education: Bachelors in human services, social work, psychology, or sociology field; preferred.
- Or Associates Degree, with 2 years of customer service experience
- Or High School Diploma with 4 years of customer service experience
- Experience:
- One year of office administrative support experience is preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with computer programs necessary to complete the above tasks, including Outlook, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and other applicable systems.
- Driving and Background Check: Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and pass a criminal background check

May be required to do visits to work within the community, where you may experience different temperatures, weather related impacts, and other allergens in the environment. Some general office environment.
