March for Black Trans Lives – Hosted by BQIC

November 21, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST

Join BQIC for the 2nd Annual March for Black Trans Lives on November 14th at 4:00 PM as we honor the lives of Black trans people. We will be meeting at Mayme Moore Park.

This election cycle is coming to a close, but the fight continues to dismantle racism, transmisogyny and transphobia, capitalistic greed, and all other forms of oppression in our so-called “Land of the Free.” This year has surpassed the last in documented killings of Black trans people, especially Black trans women. Our people are being stolen from us at heartbreaking speed. No matter who is President, everyone has the duty to rise up against the injustices that our Black trans family face on a daily basis. The State will not give us the means to free ourselves — only communities working together to define their needs can secure our liberation!

The march will be 1.5 miles with three stops along the route, including the final destination where we will read the names and stories of the Black trans people we lost in 2020. The weather forecast predicts a high of 55 — we suggest that you wear layers to keep warm! Speakers TBA!

Masks required!

ASL interpretation will be provided. We will prioritize having Black trans people, people with disabilities, and families with children near the front of the march.

BQIC be having a drop-in art build before the March!
Pick up poster materials at Community Grounds (1134 Parsons Ave)
Date and time TBA!
